Rock Climber painting on sandstone
A modern design. The idea came to me as I watched people climb artificial rock in a climbing gym; to have an artificial climber following a crack up a real rock. The tricky part is finding a piece of rock with an outcrop or crack that the "climber" can hang onto.
Most of my climbers are on vertical stone. This one is an unusual horizontal. The size of the stone is approx. 7.5" x 14.25".
Hanging wire is securely attached to the back, and it comes with a brief description card about the art.
About the stone...
This Arizona sandstone is a beautiful sunrise blend of purple, gold, cinnamon and antique white. It's naturally weathered. I especially liked the underhang and the notch the climber is reaching toward.
