Lascaux Reindeer Stone Magnet
This is a reproduction of a Lascaux reindeer as I imagine it might have looked, freshly painted 15,000 years ago. Raw umber paint is blown onto the stone. In some places I use my hand as a mask just as cave artists did, recreating in miniature the art techniques of the first artists.
A smaller version of my wall hanging stones, this magnet is painted on the front only. It is signed on the back to keep up the illusion of being a lost fragment of prehistoric art.
Airbrush, hand painting and carving on limestone.
About the stone...
This magnet measures 3.325" wide by 4.5" high. The stone is, I believe, a piece of limestone that is a milky cream color. There are 3 high strength ceramic magnets.
