Lascaux Horse painting on stone
This is a reproduction of the famous Lascaux “Chinese” horse as I imagine it might have looked, freshly painted 15,000 years ago. Iron oxide and black manganese paint are blown and hand painted onto stone, recreating in miniature the art techniques of the first artists. The paint used is light-fast, so with care your painting could last another 15,000 years!
About the stone...
Airbrush and hand painting on a silver-mica sandstone. This is a lovely shimmery silver-gold stone with diagonal ripples.
Size approx. 10.75" x 9.75”
