Lascaux Deer stone magnet
This is a reproduction of a Lascaux deer as I imagine it might have looked, freshly painted 15,000 years ago. Burnt sienna pigment paint is blown and hand-painted onto stone, then i carve in to the surface of the stone to create detail, recreating in miniature the art techniques of the first artists. The earth pigment paint I use can handle direct sunlight, and, with care, could last another 15,000 years! The stone has 4 ceramic magnets on the back.
About the stone...
This stone magnet measures 3.75" wide by 6" high. The stone is a piece of Raja slate that is a bluish-grey at the top warming to cinnamon at the bottom. It has a smooth shimmery surface.
