Lascaux Bull Stone Magnet
This is a reproduction of a Lascaux Bull as I imagine it might have looked, freshly painted 15,000 years ago. Black and red oxide paint is blown and hand painted onto the stone, then I carve in details, just as cave artists did, recreating in miniature the art techniques of the first artists.
Smaller versions of my wall hanging stones, these it is signed on the back to keep up the illusion of being a lost fragment of prehistoric art. There are 3 high strength ceramic magnet on the back.
Airbrush, hand painting and carving on slate.
About the stone...
The stone is a piece of slate that is an unusual light blue with underlayers of sunrise purple. This magnet measures 3.25" wide by 2.5" high.
