Kokopelli painting on quartzite
I haven't made a foray into North American imagery, but I had a client commission a Kokopelli figure, so I explored this design as an American/Euro blend. Kokopelli is a fertility god of some cultures in the American Southwest. He presides over game animal birth, agriculture, and childbirth, carrying unborn children on his back. Kokopelli's flute playing chases away winter and is associated with rain. He is also known as a trickster god, a common trait in mythical art.
