I found some beautiful slate stone tiles at the stone yard one trip, and picked some out figuring I would find a use for them somehow. Soon after, I was in an art store and saw wooden boxes the same exact size as the tiles. With some weathering, stain, varnish, and felt lining, they look like they were meant to be with the slate tiles. So far, deer and fish seem to fit the square format of slate tiles.
